My guest is Brenda Elsey from Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. Brenda is the co-author of Futbolera: A History of Women and Sports in Latin America. We look at women’s involvement in Association football since it first arrived in Latin America in the late 19th century. Who were the key protagonists? What challenges did they face? How did the women’s game evolve and what challenges does women’s football still face in Latin America.
