I’m doing a mini book tour this spring! If you’re in Leeds, Dublin or London, and are interested in the history of football and politics, then do please make a note of the below dates. More details will follow for Dublin and London on Twitter and Instagram in the coming weeks.
Monday, 3 April: Leeds – I’ll be doing an informal gathering at a city centre craft beer pub and will be talking about a century of football and political protest and doing a Q&A between 6.30pm-8pm. Space is limited, so please email me for more details if you’re keen to come.
Thursday, 25 May, Dublin – I will be teaming up with historian Gerard Farrell to discuss the roots of Association football in Ireland, along with Irish-founded clubs abroad. We’ll also look at the history of football and politics. This will most likely be held in a sports bar in D8 between 7-9pm but stay tuned for confirmation.
Tuesday, 30 May, London – I will be part of an evening bill and in my talk, I will be discussing the history of politics in football and the emergence of progressive football clubs and fanbases since the 1980s at Dulwich Hamlet’s Champion Hill ground – more info here.
If you run a football podcast and would like to discuss the history of football and politics – especially football against fascism, the topic of my new book The Defiant, then do please get in touch.
Hopefully meet you in the spring!
