Podcast: Footballing Pioneers with Jon Driscoll

Our guest is the journalist Jon Driscoll, author of The Fifty: Football’s Most Influential Players. We look back at players who have changed the game, all the way from Charles W. Alcock in the 1860s-80s, up to Megan Rapinoe in the present day.

We major on Billy Meredith, arguably football’s first superstar, along with Argentinian Jorge Brown, Uruguayan Olympic and World Cup-winner José Andrade, Brazilian Garrincha, and more.

We release a new podcast every Monday, so be sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast platform. We’re on AppleSpotifyStitcherPlayer.FM and Anchor. Look for us in Google Podcasts too. We’d really appreciate a rating or view if you like what we’re doing as it helps others discover our podcast.
