Podcast: The Story of the UEFA Cup

We welcome Steven Scragg back onto the podcast to discuss his new book about the UEFA Cup. Where the Cool Kids Hung Out: The Chic Years of the UEFA Cup is out in October 2020. We look at the tournament’s identity, the appeal of a two-legged final, and how even the small teams – including IFK Göteborg, Ipswich Town and Dundee United – all had a share of the limelight.

If you are old enough to remember life before the Europa League – and even if you’re not – this is a brilliant interview.

We release a new podcast every Monday, so be sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast platform. We’re on AppleSpotifyStitcherPlayer.FM and Anchor. Look for us in Google Podcasts too. We’d really appreciate a rating or view if you like what we’re doing as it helps others discover our podcast.
