Podcast: The Foundation of Celtic FC

Dr Michael Connolly’s biography of Celtic FC founder, Brother Walfrid

My guest is Dr Michael Connolly from the University of Stirling in Scotland, to discuss the foundation of the famous Glaswegian club, Celtic. Who inspired Walfrid to set up the club? How did he get it off the ground? How did the club address the challenge of professionalism in the early Scottish game?

We also discuss Walfrid’s life and legacy, and what he would make of the club that he created were he around today.

I release a new podcast every two weeks, so be sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast platform. You can find Football Travel by Outside Write on AppleSpotifyPlayer.FM and Anchor.
