Down in the seventh tier of English football you will find one of the most significant clubs in world football – Corinthian-Casuals FC. The Corinthians were founded as an amateur team in 1882 with a view to taking on a strong Scotland team that had a habit of beating England. The Casuals were its supply club.

The team then became a touring team, evangelising football and the spirit of fair play across four continents. Most famously, the club is known as the inspiration for the foundation of one of South America’s most successful clubs, Corinthians Paulista. To this day, Corinthian-Casuals’ Tolworth ground in south-west London is a footballing pilgrimage for fans of the São Paulo club.

In this podcast, we talk to Llew Walker from Corinthian-Casuals to get to know the role both The Corinthians and The Casuals played in taking the game to world.
