Podcast: SSC Napoli

My guest is Kirsten Schlewitz, whose upcoming book More Than Maradona: The Birth, Death and Rebirth of SSC Napoli, covers the entire history of Southern Italy’s most successful club.

We look at football in Naples before the official founding of SSC Napoli in 1926, and its highs and lows before 1984, when Diego Maradona signed for the club. Naturally, we cover the Maradona years, but we also discuss Napoli’s fortunes since then. We also discuss how to enjoy the matchday experience at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, plus where to find the famous Maradona murals and graffiti painted in his honour.

I release a new podcast every Monday, so be sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast platform. You can find Football Travel by Outside Write on AppleSpotifyStitcherPlayer.FM and Anchor. Look for it in Google Podcasts too. We’d really appreciate a rating or view if you like what we’re doing as it helps others discover our podcast.
