Podcast: Italian Ultrà Culture with Tobias Jones

Brescia ultras orchestrate an impressive tifo

We are joined by Tobias Jones, author of Ultra: The Underworld of Italian Football. Jones talks us through his travels with Cosenza’s fans from Italy’s deep south and his exploration of wider ultrà culture across the peninsula.

The story of the Italian ultrà is a story of belonging, identity, politics, family and – all too often – organised crime. But it’s not all negative, some ultrà groups have done some good things for their community, as Jones explains.

We release a new podcast every Monday, so be sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast platform. We’re on Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, Player.FM and Anchor. Look for us in Google Podcasts too.
