I am joined by Rob MacDonald and Adam Bushby from Halcyon Publishing who have a book out, From the Jaws of Victory, on football’s nearly teams. Rob and Adam have brought together some of the best writers in the business to cover some fascinating teams. We discuss everything from the famous teams – like the Netherlands at the 1974 World Cup and Hungary’s ‘Golden Team’ that lost a two-goal lead in the 1954 World Cup final to West Germany – but we also cover some surprising choices, such as late Clough-era Nottingham Forest.
