Podcast: Football in Venezuela

Match day in Venezuela [Credit: Jordan Florit]

Our guest is Jordan Florit, whose new book Red Wine and Arepas: How Football is Becoming Venezuela’s Religion, explores the rise and rise of football in the challenged South American country.

From bureaucracy to fuel queues via water shortages, Jordan really put himself out there to compile the story of the Venezuelan game. What emerges is a story of a country whose men’s and women’s game is improving against all odds.

Give it a spin, it’s a fascinating interview!

Be sure to read Jordan’s guest post introducing football in Venezuela.
