Podcast: Football in the Former Soviet Republics

Robert O’Connor’s Blood and Circuses chronicles his travels in the former Soviet Republics

Our guest is Robert O’Connor, who has observed football’s state and role in the former Soviet republics and other countries formerly under Moscow’s influence.

It’s a story of politics, national identity and – often – oligarchy. Robert has chronicled his travels in a new book, Blood and Circuses: A Football Journey Through Football’s Rebel Republics.
