Podcast: 1. FC Union Berlin

I am joined by Kit Holden, author of a new book about 1. FC Union Berlin. Scheisse! We’re Going Up looks at the history of one of Germany’s most characterful football clubs, especially its recent decades, which has seen the fans help save the stadium and even seen ‘Eisern Union’ (Iron Union) taste European football.

Kit’s book is absolutely brilliant. I read an advance copy – disclosure: I was sent it by the publisher. I particularly enjoyed it as Union is my team in Germany, following a visit many years ago when the club was in the 2. Bundesliga.

This is the last in the current season of the Outside Write podcast and will be back in the winter for what will be the final season of the podcast.
